Skincare in Your 30s

Yes, 30s might be the new 20s, but that doesn’t change the fact that most women start to notice lines forming, collagen loss, and signs of sun damage. Thankfully, the collagen production decline is gradual, and it’s a great time to start addressing it now. Also, as our skin ages, it can become sensitive and more problematic. These are a few skin care products and treatments that have been very beneficial to my skin care routine:

I am a 32 year old active woman, who loves to eat, travel, and spend time outside.  A lot of the activities that I love to do, unfortunately, take a toll on my skin.  Currently, my favorite products are Skin Ceuticals® Phloretin CF, Neocutis® BioGel, and Elta® UV Clear Tinted Sunscreen.

Skin Ceuticals Phloretin CF is designed to prevent sun and free radical damage, protect healthy skin, and correct the appearance of previous damage. This is a product used in the AM only, and it will last months.

Neocutis BioGel is an anti-aging gel for normal to oily skin.  This product helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and provides just the right amount of moisture for skin-plumping hydration.

EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Sunscreen SPF 46 helps calm and protect sensitive skin types prone to breakouts, rosacea and discoloration.  It’s very lightweight, fragrance-free, oil-free, and paraben-free. This product can be worn with make up or alone, and has a great silky feel.

Over the past few years I have had the chance to try many skin care treatments that have worked wonders on my skin.  Microneedling and neuromodulators (like Botox and Dysport) have to be my top two choices.

Eclipse® Micropen Elite is an in-office procedure used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to aid in the production of collagen and elastin.  This process results in a thicker epidermis with a softer appearance of skin texture and wrinkles.  This is a great treatment for that overall dewy glow!  It is ideal to have 4+ treatments done once a month.

Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport®:  Don’t let these scare you!  They will end up being your go-to treatment every 3-4 months.  Neuromodulators are FDA-approved to treat frown lines between the brows and around the eyes (crow’s feet).  With these treatments you can get noticeable results and still look like yourself.   It doesn’t hurt, is not permanent, and it’s an appointment where you can be in and out within 30 minutes.  Give it a try!
