A Forehead Reduction is a cosmetic procedure to lower a high hairline to make the forehead appear shorter. It is generally considered for people with a naturally high hairline, disproportionately tall forehead. A patient should have a stable hairline with sufficient scalp laxity for this procedure.
The procedure involves making an incision along or near the existing hairline, removing a strip of excess forehead skin, and advancing the scalp/hairline downward. The incision is then closed carefully, leaving a scar that is intended to blend with the hairline.
Typical result: Improved facial proportions. The hairline may be lowered by roughly 1–2 cm, although the amount varies based on individual anatomy and scalp mobility.
