M.D.

Dr. Remigio J. Flor, born and raised in Miami, Florida, aspired to become a physician from an early age. His professional journey began as an Emergency Medical Technician, working both in ambulance and emergency room settings, all while being a full-time college student. He graduated cum laude from the University of Miami with Departmental Honors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

His dedication to service led him to join the United States Army while completing his Doctor of Medicine degree at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. As a medical student, he held several leadership positions, volunteered in community clinics, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his internship in General Surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Dr. Flor then served as an Active-Duty Field and Flight Surgeon in armored and aviation units, gaining invaluable experience in operational medicine.

His passion for surgical excellence guided him to Ophthalmology where he completed residency training at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Flor distinguished himself both clinically and surgically, complementing his experience with numerous research projects, academic presentations at national conferences, and being selected as a chief resident. He earned the prestigious Colonel Juan d'Avis Award for excellence in surgery upon graduation.

Outside of surgery, Dr. Flor enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, travel, and spending quality time with his family.
