Dr. Mark Mazow is a native Texan. He was born in Galveston and raised in Houston. Eye care runs in Dr Mazow’s family. His father is a retired Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Houston, and his grandfather was one of the first Optometrists in Houston. Dr. Mazow earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (McGovern Medical School), completed a residency in ophthalmology at Kansas University Medical Center and obtained his undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin and Rice University. Dr. Mazow completed a fellowship in Oculoplastics in Dallas, TX.
He is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. He has a passion for teaching and has been involved in the education of Ophthalmology Residents and Oculoplastic Fellows since 1990. Dr. Mazow has published numerous scientific papers and is a reviewer of scientific articles in publication for the Journal of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Mazow is an oculoplastic surgeon specializing in facial plastic surgery. Dr. Mazow performs cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery involving the eyelids, eyebrows, cheeks and the lacrimal (tear) system. Dr. Mazow is a sought-after surgeon for surgery corrections, treating a wide range of eye-related complications from previous surgeries. He has extensive experience in the treatment of facial skin cancers and reconstruction after Mohs’ excisions. Dr. Mazow treats eyelid and orbital tumors and thyroid eye disease and works closely with the Pediatric Oncology and Pediatric Endocrinology services at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas. He is experienced in the treatment of childhood disorders of the eyelids, and the lacrimal system and orbit. Dr. Mazow is skilled in the use of non-surgical facial cosmetic treatments using Botox® Cosmetic and facial fillers.
In his free time Dr Mazow is an avid golfer and sports
enthusiast. He is also a wine connoisseur and enjoys watching movies. Dr. Mazow is a proud father of one son who is a SI, Second Lieutenant in the US Army.
