Monica Ray, M.D.

Dr. Monica Ray was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Growing
up in a family of physicians, including her mother and three of her grandparents, she has always been interested in pursuing medicine. Dr. Ray graduated from the University of Michigan, where she majored in Biochemistry and earned a minor in Mathematics. She then attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. As President of the Sight Savers Organization, Dr. Ray provided free vision screenings and eye care at student run clinics throughout
the Detroit Metro area. Dr. Ray completed her internship at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan and residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Throughout her residency Dr. Ray was a leader amongst her peers, holding multiple leadership positions within the Departments of Ophthalmology and Graduate Medical Education. She was chosen to be Chief Resident of
Ophthalmology during her final year. Throughout residency she continued to pursue research endeavors and community service. Dr. Ray completed her two-year Oculoplastic ASOPRS fellowship and a one-year cosmetic surgery AACS fellowship at
TOC Eye and Face.

 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ray enjoys cooking, baking, visiting art
museums, reading, golfing, and traveling with her husband and their dog, Archie.
